BASIA is a beautiful and well maintained example of Roger Hewson's personally favorite and best design. From coastal cruising, to ocean racing (Jeff Wilson’s TACKTILE did Newport - Bermuda in 2022 and 2024), to long distance/long term/short-handed cruising, this has proven to be one of the most versatile boats of the era. BASIA is the single aft head interior layout.

Features include in-boom Leisure-Furl w/full batten main (8 years old) powered by Lewmar No. 44 electric winch, 135 Sobstad jib with vertical battens (8 years old), 2 ATN socked spinnakers, all sail controls lead to cockpit, Westerbeke 46 (1300 hours) w/feathering two-blade Maxi-prop, Seafrost engine driven cold plate refer, CNG stove/oven w/4 tanks, shower in aft head & cockpit, windlass & foredeck washdown, stern boarding ladder, Tempurpedic memory foam mattresses in v-berth & after-berth, cockpit cushions, Teak cockpit table with two leaves (12 coats of Epifanes), Faircloth full cover, original owner’s manual & all documentation. 

Continuous improvements and new gear over the past 5 years include:
