Originally known as the Prairie 46 Long Range Cruiser (1979–81), Atlantic Yachts purchased the tooling for this model in 1982 when Prairie went out of business. Although designed more than three decades ago, she remains a handsome yacht today—yet another testament to the enduring quality of Hargrave designs. The 47 was available with two floor plans, with the original three-stateroom, two-head layout being the most popular. In her day, the 47’s interior was considered luxurious, with well-crafted teak woodwork complemented by high-quality hardware and furnishings. An optional hard aft enclosure turned the afterdeck into an air-conditioned area. Note the oversize freshwater tanks. Heavily built on a solid fiberglass modified-V hull with a wide beam and a shallow keel, the Atlantic 47 is well known for her comfortable ride, with the optional 435hp 6V71 diesels.
