A popular model during her 6-year production run, the 36 PC is a contemporary mid-cabin cruiser whose attractive lines and comfortable accommodations make her a desirable boat on today’s used market. She was built on a solid fiberglass deep-V hull with fairly high freeboard and prop pockets to reduce her draft requirements. Below, the Formula’s mid-cabin floorplan is arranged in the normal manner with an island bed in the forward stateroom (with a door for privacy) and facing settees in the step-down aft cabin. There’s a built-in entertainment center on the aft bulkhead above the mid-cabin facing the salon—very innovative. In the cockpit, a big L-shaped lounge is opposite the helm, and a hydraulically operated hatch provides outstanding access to the engine compartment. Note that unlike most modern mid-cabin cruisers of her type and size, the Formula 36 PC has straight inboard power rather than V-drives. Standard 454-cid gas engines cruise at 17 knots and reach 26–27 knots top. Note that in 1990 (only) Formula offered an Express version of the 36 PC without the mid-cabin but with a huge engine room and extra storage.
