This is the boat that started Fountain's domination of bluewater fishing tournaments, having won more SKA World Championships than all other boat builders combined. Equipped with a pair of 225 Mercury outboards, the flagship 31 runs over 60 mph fully loaded. Coupled with Fountain's notch-transom, pad keel bottom design, the 31 is extremely stable, steady at trolling speeds and well equipped for the tough stuff. Seven stringers and 10 bulkheads are glassed in place for ultimate structural integrity. Owens Corning bi-, tri- and quad-directional glass along with heavy-duty foam coring and vinylester resin are used throughout. From the anchor locker to the dive platform, Fountain outfits the 31 Tournament Edition with everything bluewater fishermen need, including heavy-duty trim tabs, hydraulic steering, complete instrumentation, a 400-quart insulated fish box with overboard drains, 50-gallon round above-deck circulating livewell, rod holders and a self-bailing innerliner. Fountain is also one of the few builders that laminates its decks and hulls together, creating a unitized construction that can't be beat. The three-piece hull, deck and innerliner configuration opens up the gunwales for added toe room while fighting fish. Upholstered coaming panels surround the cockpit and a unique raised bow fishing area with wide, non-skid walkways allows easy access. The spacious forward cabin provides overnight accommodations with a cozy V-berth and a portable head. No matter what your catch or where you have to go to chase it, the 31 Tournament Edition is equal to the task.
