The CASAMONTE was originally launched in 1999 as Jolly Roger and has been continually updated by her former and current owners. The CASAMONTE is truly the only thorough and complete refit from the keel up to be performed on a 58’ Merritt. From March to Late November 2022 the boat remained at the Merritt yard and the transformation was extensive. The Caterpillar 3412 engines and ZF gears were removed and complete upper and lower rebuild of all were completed. Currently the boat has 640 hours as of 11/25. The engine room was detailed, all hoses and fuel lines replaced. The gears were fully rebuilt. In 2021 she received a new tower and teak deck and coverboards. In 2022 she received a complete interior refit, new generators, new SeaKeepers - a 6 and 9, new cockpit ice machine and new Spot Zero. The hull bottom was soda blasted, hull barrier coated then fresh bottom paint applied.
She features rugged advanced composite construction with sandwich foam core, Kevlar, e-glass and epoxy, master stateroom forward with ensuite head and full shower, a guest stateroom to port as well as crew quarters with over/under bunks to starboard and full head.
The interior is classic Merritt satin teak throughout, galley counter tops were stripped for the installation of new stone, modern sea rail trim with tighter corners and all new LED lighting were installed as well all new fixtures in the heads and galley. All new headliners and fabrics. with many modern upgrades including all new stone surfaces in staterooms and heads with modern angular corners throughout. New electronics suite, all exterior varnish was stripped and refinished in 2022 as well as a full paint job at Merritt’s in 2022.
